28|XC SL Wheelset

The Reserve 28|XC is the race-ready culmination of everything we’ve learned from years at the highest levels of competition. At 1387g for a complete DT Swiss 180 hub wheelset with tape and valves (AND no rider weight limit and lifetime warranty), the 28|XC features a wider and lower rim profile than our previous XC race wheels, increasing strength and lateral rigidity while adding vertical compliance. The new rim shape also eases tubeless tire installation and improves tire bead retention at lower pressure. The Reserve 28|XC is sturdy and strong enough for a rowdy XC ride, but light and fast enough for a jaunt on the World Cup XC circuit.

FEATURES:

• SL Rims; Lighter, Same Strength: Our latest advancement comes from a new manufacturing technique that reduces individual rim weight by 25-30 grams, while maintaining the exact strength and durability standards as our existing rims. To complement this, wheels built with these new SL rims are paired exclusively with our lightest hub offerings. A lightweight rim deserves a lightweight hub to match.
• Spoke Reinforcements: Reserve uses externally reinforced spoke holes to strengthen the area where the rim sees the most force, around the spoke nipple. This provides for improved strength without adding unnecessary weight.
• Redesigned Rim Bed: The 28|XC's redesigned rim bed eases tubeless installation, with a shaped rim bed utilizing offset spoke holes that allows the tire to easily push past the bead bump to seat tubeless tires.
• Asymmetrical Design: Asymmetrical rims front and rear make for a stiffer, stronger and more reliable wheels by improving the bracing angles and equalizing the spoke tensions between the drive and non-drive side spokes.
